FAA to Alert DOJ if Boeing Involved in Criminal Activities, Says Reuters

The head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to address a U.S. Senate panel on Wednesday, emphasizing the agency’s ongoing collaboration with the Justice Department regarding oversight of Boeing.

FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker will inform the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations that the agency is committed to promptly notifying the Justice Department of any activities that may warrant criminal scrutiny. This information is based on written testimony reviewed by Reuters.

In July, Boeing agreed to a guilty plea for a criminal fraud conspiracy charge, committing to pay at least $243.6 million after violating a previous agreement from 2021 with the Justice Department, as noted in court filings.
