
Ukraine Reports Russian Drone Strike Injures One and Damages Infrastructure, According to Reuters
KYIV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s air force reported on Friday that it successfully intercepted 24 out of 26 drones launched by Russia overnight across four regions. This information was shared via a statement on the Telegram messaging platform.
In the southern Odesa region, debris from the fallen drones injured one person and caused damage to 20 homes and four garages, as indicated by regional governor Oleh Kiper.
In Mykolaiv, drone debris ignited a fire at a food processing plant, though it was swiftly extinguished, according to regional governor Vitaliy Kim.
Svitlana Onyshchuk, the governor of the western Ivano-Frankivsk region, noted that authorities are addressing the aftermath of the attack but did not provide specific details, other than confirming that there were no injuries reported.
Ukraine’s energy ministry stated that Russia targeted energy infrastructure in six regions over the past day, resulting in damage to industrial facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The governor of Khmelnytskyi, situated in the central part of the country, reported no damage from the attacks in that region.
Additionally, the air force updated a previous statement to clarify that there was no activation of air defenses in the Kherson region, located in the south.
