Universal Music Group Files Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Against Anthropic AI

Universal Music Group, Concord Publishing, and ABKCO Music & Records have initiated legal action against the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic. The lawsuit, filed on October 18, alleges that Anthropic unlawfully copied and disseminated extensive amounts of copyrighted material, including lyrics from numerous musical compositions owned or controlled by the publishers, while training its AI chatbot, Claude.
