US Court Freezes Alex Mashinsky’s Assets in Criminal Case
A federal judge has ruled to freeze specific bank accounts and property associated with former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky, following a motion filed by the United States Justice Department.
In a filing dated September 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the judge approved a request to unseal a restraining order related to Mashinsky’s assets. This order allows the Justice Department to freeze accounts held at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch under various holding companies, as well as accounts at First Republic Securities, SoFi Bank, and SoFi Securities that are registered under Mashinsky’s name.
