Italy Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Italy 40 Index Rises 1.63%

Italy’s stock market experienced gains on Thursday, boosted by strong performances across various sectors.

At the close in Milan, the index rose by 1.63%.

Notable gainers for the session included Brunello Cucinelli, which saw an increase of 7.52%, adding 6.40 points to finish at 91.55. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA also had a good day, climbing 6.63% to close at 5.34, while Moncler SpA was up 6.57%, increasing by 3.21 points to end at 52.06.

On the downside, the session featured some laggards, with Saipem SpA declining by 5.70%, dropping 0.12 points to trade at 1.92. Eni SpA fell 3.04%, down 0.43 points to finish at 13.57, and Leonardo SpA experienced a drop of 1.44%, losing 0.30 points to close at 20.57.

Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange, with 321 stocks rising, 184 falling, and 46 remaining unchanged.

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA reached a 52-week high, reflecting a notable increase of 6.63% for the day.

In commodity markets, crude oil for November delivery decreased by 2.22%, dropping $1.55 to $68.14 per barrel. Additionally, Brent oil for December delivery fell by 1.96%, losing $1.43 to settle at $71.47 per barrel. In contrast, December Gold Futures rose by 0.19%, gaining $5.00 to trade at $2,689.70 per troy ounce.

In currency exchange, the EUR/USD remained steady, with a slight increase of 0.38% to 1.12, while the EUR/GBP also showed a minor rise of 0.31% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures experienced a decline of 0.31%, ending the day at 100.31.
