US Jobs Market Cooling Yet Remaining Resilient, Says Fed’s Kugler
FRANKFURT – The U.S. job market has begun to show signs of cooling, yet it remains resilient. Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler emphasized the importance of avoiding a significant decline in labor market conditions during her remarks at a conference in Frankfurt.
“The lower unemployment rate reported last Friday is quite encouraging,” Kugler stated. “It is important to avoid a drastic slowdown in the labor market.”
She indicated that multiple indicators suggest the labor market is returning to pre-pandemic levels, but the Federal Reserve is focused on ensuring that any cooling does not lead to excessive hardship for workers.
