US Organizes Flight from Beirut as Americans Seek to Leave Lebanon, Says State Department

U.S. Organizes Flight for Citizens Leaving Lebanon Amid Conflict

WASHINGTON – The United States has arranged a flight from Beirut to Istanbul to facilitate the departure of American citizens from Lebanon, as tensions escalate between Israel and Hezbollah, according to State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

During a press briefing, Miller noted that approximately 7,000 U.S. citizens in Lebanon have registered with the government for updates on evacuation options, though not all of them are seeking immediate assistance.

The flight, which took place on Wednesday, had a capacity of around 300 seats and successfully transported about 100 Americans along with their family members. Miller emphasized that Washington has been collaborating with airlines since Saturday to secure seats on commercial flights for American citizens wishing to leave.
