Russia to Withdraw from INF Nuclear Pact in Six Months: Ifax Reports
Moscow, Russia – Update on INF Treaty
Russia will withdraw from the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty in six months, responding to the United States’ decision to exit the agreement, as reported by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday.
President Vladimir Putin recently stated that Russia had suspended its participation in the Cold War-era treaty after the U.S. announced its intent to withdraw unless Moscow addresses what it claims are violations of the 1987 pact.
The Russian government firmly denies any breaches of the treaty.
