Argentina’s government may expedite negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding its $44 billion program before initiating discussions on a new agreement that could involve additional funding, according to reports by Bloomberg News, which cited insiders familiar with the matter.
Economy Minister Luis Caputo informed investors in New York that the South American nation is considering merging the last two reviews of the current program into a single session. Following this, negotiations for a new program are expected to take approximately three to six months.
