UAW Members at Ford’s River Rouge Tool and Die Unit Reach Tentative Agreement, According to Reuters
The United Auto Workers union announced on Wednesday that its members working in the tool and die unit at Ford’s River Rouge Complex have reached a tentative agreement with the company, just one day before the scheduled strike deadline.
Located in Dearborn, Michigan, Ford’s Rouge Complex employs approximately 6,000 individuals, with over 500 workers in the tool and die division, as stated by a union official.
Union members are set to review the agreement’s details and will conduct a ratification vote in the coming days.
The union emphasized that, if ratified, the agreement would establish new standards for skilled trades at Ford.
Last week, the union warned of a potential strike on September 26 if local contract issues remained unresolved, highlighting key negotiation points such as job security, wage parity, and work rules.
