Taiwan Stocks Decline at Close of Trade; Taiwan Weighted Index Falls 0.16%

Taiwan’s stock market experienced a downturn on Monday, primarily driven by losses in various sectors.

By the end of the trading session, the index had decreased by 0.16%.

Among the session’s notable performers, Arima Communications Corp saw a remarkable increase of 350.24%, rising by 7.39 points to close at 9.50. Chung Hung Steel Corp also performed well, gaining 10.00% or 1.95 points to finish at 21.45, while Hai Kwang Enterprise Corp similarly increased by 10.00%, or 1.75 points, to reach 19.25 in late trading.

In contrast, the worst-performing stocks included CX Technology Corp, which fell by 9.93%, or 3.45 points, closing at 31.30. Lead Data Inc saw a decline of 9.85% or 0.39 points, finishing at 3.57, and Elite Advanced Laser Corp dropped by 7.83%, or 15.50 points, to close at 182.50.

Overall, declining stocks outnumbered those on the rise on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Arima Communications Corp hit a three-year high with its impressive surge of 350.24% to 9.50.

In the commodities market, crude oil for November delivery rose by 1.36%, or 0.93, to $69.11 a barrel. Additionally, Brent oil for December delivery increased by 1.45%, or 1.04, reaching $72.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract saw a rise of 0.45%, or 11.90, trading at $2,680.00 per troy ounce.

On the currency front, USD/TWD increased by 0.11% to 31.62, whereas TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures experienced a slight decline of 0.04%, settling at 100.07.
