The U.S. economy is projected to have grown at an annualized rate of 3.7 percent in the third quarter, according to the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDP Now forecast model. This figure contrasts sharply with the government’s recent estimate, which indicated a growth rate of only 1.2 percent for the second quarter, reported last Friday.

This latest estimate for the third-quarter GDP indicates a slight increase from the previously calculated 3.6 percent on Wednesday.
